Vermont Trip

Left Richfield NC this morning about 9:30 nice drive up I85 and I95. Got to Arlington National Cemetery visited my parents grave site. It was 2 years ago the 5th of May that she passed away. Drove thru the Cemetery looking for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. Discovered the Coast Guard Tampa Memorial. It was sunk by a German U-Boat on the 36th of September 19 1918 While escorting a convoy to Milford Haven Wales. Saw the Tombs of Robert E Peary who claims to be the first to reach the North Pole and Walter Reed who found a cure for Yellow Fever Can find a lot of things just driving around.

Stuff

Ya know I forgot all about this. Since last post I got laid off from my job in Charlotte, NC. Had a good thanksgiving dinner that could be beat. Went to sleep and woke up the next day and still had no job. One I thought I might get I didn't get cause they wanted me to work 12 hour days for 5 or 6 days straight. That's not for me. 4 or 3 12's would work but not 5 or 6 12's. Don't want to kill myself. Anyway I found my job that was waiting for me. It was in Welcome NC and not Salisbury, NC. At a sheet metal shop. It's nice to know that the job found me. I hope it works out and lasts longer than this last one. Six months was all it lasted. Looks promising though. I start Monday night 3:30 go tomorrow for a drug test, (which I hope I pass cause I have been studying for it tonight), and add orientation. I just dislike temp services if they lead you on and have to work for 6 months before being hired. I know sometimes companies tend to hold off hiring cause it saves them money.

Just come in from having breakfast, rabbit sure taste good early in the morning, poor rabbit. Catching up on the news of the day, taxes going up in NC again. Hopefully new blood get in this next election and the state gets some fiscal responsibility. Chance of that happening is slim and none. Glad to see the journalist home from North Korea, they ought not be snooping around I guess they have a good reason. It's a shame that we had to let North Korea put on a dog and pony show for their release, with a former President.
Government run health care will only worsen the situation we have now. It's all about dollars and sense, the government wants your dollars while the business community has the sense to run it..
